Y. Update lines per claim

Option [Y] on the Download Claims Menu

When selecting option "Y" from the download menu, a new menu is presented. This menu is used to identify specific print spool file information, such as, number of lines per page, records to be imported, lines to be skipped and type of flags needed for the data. This information is used to print the format report for a specific print spool file. It is also used to set the lines for the importing of claims.

You would set the lines per claim under number 1 for converting the print image file.

Note: Normally options 2-6 are not used unless your print image file is different per payer. This would be unusual.

You would set the lines per claim under letter Z for printing out a grid of your print image file. This option is used as a tool for mapping the matrix.

Hint: Restrict the number of claims to print, usually 3-5 claims is sufficient for mapping purposes.

Before converting a print spool file to FastEMC this information must be input.

After the initial set up, this information should only be changed when there are changes made to the print spool file that would affect one or more of these settings. Once the information is changed, the settings stay the same until another change is made.

Note: The initial default is set for 66 lines per page, import the first 3 records, skip no lines and set no flags. After setting the lines return to the previous menu to begin the actual import and print functions.
