What is FastEMC?
FastEMC is essentially a billing service on your desktop-deployed as a local software application that enables you to generate, submit and track the status of electronic health insurance claims. FastEMC is not a clearinghouse service. Instead, we partner with clearinghouses to provide gateways for customers like you to transmit their claims.
In accordance with the Administrative Simplification Provision of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (commonly known as HIPAA), FastEMC uses the ANSI X12N 4010A1 (837) file format for claims. All insurance payers are required by law to accept claims submitted in this file format.
FastEMC is designed to enforce efficient data management and prevent you from accidentally submitting a claim that is not in compliance with HIPAA standards. Although this does not guarantee that every claim will be paid smoothly, your acceptance rates are likely to improve.
